Described as one of the largest candy stores in the world, Candylawa, opened recently in the Panorama mall Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Pronounced candylover, this veritable jawbreaker of an undertaking was three years in the making and is a testament to the creativity and determination of the design team at Redesign Group New Zealand.
Redesign provided services from the full retail design concept and branding to the development of the Candylawa mascot family and merchandising. Construction of the fitout was undertaken by a contracting partner based in Riyadh. Candylawa’s scrumptious interiors are finished and detailed to mouth-watering quality. The store has been cleverly zoned over two levels to ensure maximum customer interaction and satisfaction with treats from hand made candies and milkshakes, to marshmallows and popcorn Internationally renowned New Zealand furniture and lighting designer, David Trubridge was commissioned to craft the enchanting bespoke candy light fittings.
Throughout the store you will see a common element. The family of four Candylawa creations, Mello, Sukar, Coco and Sprinkle. They can be found swinging from the ceilings, on skateboards and represented in the merchandising. Each mascot has a story so your children can pick their favourites.
The upper level takes you through a wonderland of different areas… The pick n mix area where you can fill your tin with jelly bellies, travel through the wonka walk to find your favourite chocolate, visit the creation room to create your own artwork. Stop and see the show kitchen to see your cupcakes being iced. Create your own candy and marshmallows. Mix your own shake flavour or popcorn. And for the parents you can relax in the high end cafe with French inspired decor and food offering.
In these glamorous and well-ordered surroundings, the vast range of sweet treats and gourmet delights on offer appear even more enticing! Candylawa is set for a full speed sugar-rush to the stars in this superbly designed new store, the first of many to come.
Candylawa is among an exciting line-up of projects that Redesign Bahrain, under the artistic direction of Senior Designer Jasmine Sumer, is currently working on for clients such as BeIn Sport, Lexus, Almari, Al Hilal, Al Nassr and Ittihad retail stores.
